New Nikon D5000 Entry Level DSLR

The Nikon D5000 is actually a D90 inside a D40 body. It is using the same 12.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor featured on the Nikon D90. It offers same base sensitivity range which can boost the ISO up to 6400. The size is very similar to the D40. This is the first Nikon DSLR to feature an articulated screen and it will support Live View mode. Instead of using the 920K-dot displays included on the D90, the D5000 is using the standard 230,000 dot display. The body also looks plastic for such price tags. The body comes with one control wheel only, limited buttons for control and it is using AFS-only autofocus driver system. So basically, you're not going to get the same auto focus speed as the D90 because there is no motor inside the camera body. However, the D5000 comes with Quiet Mode which makes the D5000 become the quietest Nikon ever. The selling price of Nikon D5000 is starting around US$999. If you have extra cash, I will recommend you to purchase the D90 instead.
