The Samsung P3 looks cool! Very cool! You will be impressive by just putting the player on hand! The screen is crystal clear and the reflection is as clear as a glass! But finger print will left on the screen, so be prepare to get a good screen protector.
The reset/mic, USB cable adaptor and headphones jack are located in the bottom of the player
On/Off switch, volume control and microphone are located on the top of the P3
Wait! It's Not Just Window Dressing!
The Samsung P3 user interface looks extremely nice and exciting on the pictures! But many people may wonder it is joyful to use it. Thankfully, Samsung didn't make us feel disappointed! This device is fast! Even it is doing multiple tasks, the player is still fast enough to provide fast and quick respond. Adding the Haptic feedback, Music Hot Touch Key, and lack of lag time processing speed, this new P3 is extremely easy, fun and joyful to use. Today, our testing unit will be a 8GB Samsung P3.
Using the 2.07 CN Firmware version, the player will support all the major language including English, Korean, French, German, Japanese, Chinese and more. Within 15 minutes, I basically can explore all of features without reading any guide line or user manual.
Let You Do A Lot of Customization
The original players will come in 3 different UI style to choose from. You may also create your own or download a new style from EmoDio.com. I personally like the Style 1 because it matches the P3's aluminum outlook.
Similar to iPhone and iTouch, the P3 will allow you to separate all the features icons up to the 3 pages. The player will allow you to move those icons freely and you can put up to 15 icons in one page. The P3 will be preloaded with 12 different Widgets. Some of them may not be useful but all of them look cute and creative. The Cat Sleep Timer, Gingerbread and Daisy widgets will be my top pick and these small "juice" will make you smile. Also, the light bulb widget for screen brightness adjustment is cool! Using the P3, you are going to have fun, a lot of fun!
Haptic Feedback Isn't That Great!
Haptic Feedback is one of the selling point of the new P3 which will work well while you are holding the the player on palm. This feature is able to improve the communication between you and the player but it is not that great in my point of view. I hope the P3 will be equipped with accelerometer instead. Imagine if you can shake the P3 and switch to another track? This feature will be more interesting.
Well Featured Music Playback + Music Hot Touch Key!
Music playback is well featured packed. You can select different sound effect, play mode, music player screen, horizontal stroke and play speed. Other features include add to alarm and add to playlist. I love the additional of the Music Hot Touch Key which located just below the touch screen. It allows users to instantly access favorite music features and selections without needing to cycle through multiple menus. This Music Hot Touch Key is my favor and it is a useful control beside the touch screen control.
Combine Great Player and UI!
Some manufactures may have a good player but bad user interface while others may have good interface but the device may be too slow. Samsung have do everything right in here! The P3 itself is solid and the user interface is outstanding from easy to use and respond speed. Other good news! Samsung will continue to provide new firmware to improve the player performance and a lot more features! Giving the P3 unlimited potential!
